Michael Phillip Thomas (M.P.T.) is a native of West Texas. He began his acting career at age 12 and has performed at regional repertory theatres and in films throughout the country.  Highlights in his training include study at/with:

  • Moscow Art Theater (MXAT)

  • Jon Jory

  • Wayne State University

  • PCPA

  • Groundlings

M.P.T. possesses an uncanny ability to create truthful, memorable characters.  He has a keen ear for dialects and a physicality that lends itself flawlessly to his imagination. He is able to transform himself into each character, and when tasked with playing multiple characters in a production, he has the ability to create with seemingly unbounded expression. He is ever seeking to become a better artist, and through training, uses/teaches several acting methodologies.

He holds an MFA in Acting from Wayne State University, a BFA in Theater from Santa Fe University of Art and Design, and is an Associate Faculty Member of the MiraCosta College Theater Department.

He is also an audiobook narrator, musician, artist, and archer.
